The Team of Grafiche Mercurio
For our clear choice we have wanted for our company, although it has taken on the dimensions and technology of an industry, not to lose its origins, passion, openness to dialogue, and their cooperation of the artisan print shop from which it originated. Our job is very demanding in terms of concentration, speed, and efficiency in the performance of any assignments. However, precisely for this reason, it is essential that everyone feels at ease and fully involved in the life of the company. Only then will our production function as a large orchestra that produces quality with harmony. Therefore, this section of the site is the presentation of the orchestra members, people of our team, that with their talent, experience, and professionalism that they have developed or brought to the company, are the real social capital of Grafiche Mercurio.
Owner, Managing Director
I can say that I have breathed the smell of the ink, lead characters and the printing machine lubricants from a very young age, as I could find something to do in the small printing shop my father which opened with great sacrifices. I became a professor of Letters, and I have continued to split my time between teaching, working in the printing shop, and my family, right until I stopped being able to completely dedicate myself to the company’s administration. In that moment I had to take charge, in accordance with my siblings and family, of the extremely challenging assessments and choices not only for the fate of the company. If I could go back in time, I would do everything the same way because I had the fortune of building something and making a profession of something that I love and that after all these years, makes me still passionate about taking on new challenges.
Technical Director and Co-Owner
Ever since I finished high school, when I worked as an apprentice in the workshop of my father to fix the lead characters of the Lynotype machine, printing has been my life: a unique example of the inseparable fusion of passion and work. My rhythm of life and my most valuable memories are bound to Grafiche Mercurio, where day after day I create my own destiny next to my brother Diodato and my family, pondering every decision with attention and dedicating all of my free time to the development of new ideas and to attending to details. If I look at my life, I find myself much in the family company, serene and solid in its simplicity: without regrets, because each and every step has been built with the work of everyone. Of the rest, I cannot be dissatisfied with my life because I find myself saying: he who has something to do does not have the time to cry.
Although I am a “son of the arts”, I came to the position of Sales Manager of Grafiche Mercurio following a personal and professional path away from the automatic devices that snap into many printing shops with family management. The graphic arts have been a constant presence in my life since early childhood. Although the decisions of taking care of the family company matured during university. I realized that becoming a lawyer and accountant was not something that I wanted, and instead, the work in the printing shop represented a passion as well as the area where I could fulfill myself. Once in the company, I chose to start from the workers’ tasks to learn “first-hand” about all the technical, operative, and commercial aspects of the graphic art. Today, although the commitments required by the company and the market competition absorb a great part of my days, I can say that I am happy to have found my path in here. Going through with passion and constant commitment.
I can summarize my professional life’s last events by saying that they are decades of work with paper. In my career, I have gone from paper mills to graphic arts, and after all of these years I have kept alive the passion for this industry and the desire of do good by me and by the company I work with. I have matured managerial experience in marketing and in sales of important companies, from Zerowatt to Cartiere Paolo Pigna, from Arti Grafiche di Bergamo a Saregni and going through Gruppo Abete, and the paper in all of its forms, for the Virgin and the printing are always in my heart. The meeting with the Professor, 5 years ago, has marked an important stage in my professional path and it has brought me into the family of Grafiche Mercurio. I share with the company the professionalism of the men, convinced that the people come first than the machines and that the results are the fruit of everyone’s work.
