who we are

We aim for the future without
forget the past.

The history of Grafiche Mercurio began in the 1960s when, with a pinch of recklessness and a great desire to do things, Salvatore Mercurio decided to set up his own business and found the San Gerardo Tipografia in honor of San Gerardo Maiella. At the beginning, it was nothing more than a small artisan shop like so many other printers in the area between Naples and Salerno, where lead and wood characters and hand-stitched printing machines were used.

Over the years, we have faced many challenges, investing in cutting-edge machinery and advanced technologies, always convinced that speed, competence, technological innovation and quality of service are essential to meet the needs of all our customers, from those of modern large-scale distribution to those of the agri-food industry and companies in various commercial sectors.

But there is more: in our company we consider technology at the service of passion, because for us it is the values of history, family and excellence that make the difference. In fact, without these foundations and without the artisan passion that we always keep intact, the production potential of the most advanced systems and technologies would be reduced to very little.

Certified forests are regularly checked by independent inspectors. The following principles are an integral part of PEFC ™ forest management. PEFC ™:
    • preserves the forest as a habitat for animals and plants,
maintains the protective function of forests against water, soil and climate,
    • protects the biodiversity of forest ecosystems,
    • verifies the origin of woody raw materials,
    • foresees the cutting of the plants respecting the natural growth rhythm of the forest
    • provides that the areas subject to cutting are reforested or
    • preferably regenerated and renewed naturally
    • protects the rights and health of workers,
    • favors short supply chains,
    • guarantees the rights of indigenous peoples and forest owners.
